Tree Planting Initiative by Culinary Students: Ausphin International Institute’s Commitment to a Greener Future

As part of its commitment to environmental stewardship and community service, Ausphin International Institute organized a meaningful tree planting event, themed “Let’s Plant the Future Together,” held at Wright Park, Baguio City. This initiative brought together culinary students from Batches 15 and 16, who stepped outside the kitchen to contribute to sustainability in a hands-on way.

With guidance and partnership from Forester Floro Bastian of the City Environment and Parks Management Office, students were educated on the importance of tree planting in mitigating climate change, preventing soil erosion, and enhancing air quality. Forester Bastian shared valuable insights into the types of trees best suited to Baguio’s climate and the significance of biodiversity in supporting local ecosystems. This knowledge provided students with a deeper understanding of how their actions could have a long-lasting, positive impact on their community and beyond.

Throughout the event, students eagerly planted seedlings across various areas in Wright Park, working side by side to carefully dig, plant, and nurture each tree. The act of planting was both symbolic and practical, as these trees will grow and contribute to the lush landscapes and natural beauty Baguio is known for. This experience helped students see how sustainable practices, including green initiatives, are deeply relevant across all sectors, including hospitality and culinary arts.

This tree planting initiative aligns with Ausphin International Institute’s dedication to shaping students into globally aware and responsible individuals. By actively involving culinary students in environmental projects, AII not only broadens their learning experience but also reinforces their role as future leaders who prioritize environmental care.

Events like “Let’s Plant the Future Together” are part of AII’s ongoing commitment to developing well-rounded professionals who contribute positively to their communities. Through community-focused projects and rigorous training, AII students are well-prepared to create a difference, whether in the kitchen or beyond.
